Kindle Short Coming June 2012

“When the jaded author of a best-selling horror-fantasy series decides to end the run by killing off the fanbase’s beloved hero, he will find himself desperately straddling the line between reality and fiction in a supernatural nightmare he can’t write himself out of…”

I am very excited to be this close to publication of an original short story as a Kindle e-Book.  This story examines the dark side of hubris and the chaos of a world without a hero.  It is a dark fantasy tale with a touch of the supernatural and you can be one of 25 people to get a FREE digital copy before it’s released on Amazon!  How?  It’s easy:

To get a free digital copy in advance of release:

1.  Go to my Facebook fan page and “Share” with your friends.
2.  Be one of the first 25 people to “Like” the cover image about the release pinned at the top of the page here:  Link to Facebook Page

That’s it!  I will compile a list of the 25 people who like it first and will send you a Facebook message with more information on how to obtain your copy.  I’d be very grateful for anyone who gets a free copy to post a review when it is officially released on Amazon.com.

Ask Me Why I’m Bald… Meet Austin

Meet Austin! Friday I got the opportunity to and other than being too shy to give me a high-five until later AFTER I got my head shaved, he is an adorable and lively little guy. In his 5 years of life so far he’s spent 3 of them battling cancer. But thanks to research and medical breakthroughs made possible by organizations like St. Baldrick’s Foundation and work done by great hospitals like UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and not to mention his just being an amazing and brave little boy… he is doing well right now.

Look at this little guy.

THIS is who I am doing this for. Him and many like him who are still fighting this battle every single day. Please, if you are able, I hope you will take a moment to give even the smallest gift. You can donate —> here <—

I honestly didn’t need the hair as much as I needed to get that high-five!

Home Depot To Stop Selling Books

So Home Depot has let it’s distributors know that it will no longer be selling books.

I decided to go to Twitter and begin talking about what classic literature we will be losing when this happens.

For example:

  • Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leaks Under the Sink
  • Harper Lee’s To Build a Mockingbird(house)
  • Herman Melville’s Moby Deck

Please join me on Twitter with your own suggestions, or share in the comments.  If you go on Twitter, use hashtag #HomeDepotLit

I’m making a “bald” statement…

St. Baldrick’s FoundationThose of you who know me personally, know that I do media and video production for a living, and many of you are probably aware that I do so within University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital here in Cleveland, Ohio. In my capacity here, I do not have clinical responsibilities… I haven’t done any research into new medications or treatments for pediatric cancers… I don’t daily take the tiny heart of a baby and repair it to ensure continued life… I don’t give a kid without legs a new lease on life… I don’t sit and hold the hand of a mother and a daughter who don’t know what tomorrow will bring… but I am privileged to work with people who do.

What I do is make videos and run what we call the Rainbow Channel. I produce programming to try and give a little entertainment and sense of normalcy and fun into a stay at our hospital. If I manage to make a couple of them enjoy themselves for a part of their day, then I suppose it could be argued that I’ve helped in some small way. But I feel like I should always be doing more for them.

New Novel Announcement!

The Cemetery Chronicles Book I: The Danse Macabre

Genre:  Modern fantasy/Supernatural

Coming 2013

After the death of his mother, orphaned teen Gilbert Finnegan is forced to relocate to the idyllic town of Point Creek where he moves in with his eccentric grandparents, who he barely knows. It wouldn’t be so bad if he were the only one his grandparents looked after, but they also look after several hundred other people: residents of Finnegan Gardens, the town cemetery. Soon, Gilbert discovers that the cemetery is more than it appears and may serve as the battleground for a war that has waged for eons and Gilbert himself may be the only one standing between the world and an unspeakable evil that is bent on its destruction. Ghosts, bullies, zombies, the homecoming dance, and the apocalypse… just your typical teenage dilemmas.
